Sunrise, FL — The City of Sunrise, Florida is now announcing an economic development campaign at www.SunriseRisesAbove.com that highlights the vast opportunities for national and global businesses considering a relocation to South Florida and encourages a closer look at the unique business-friendly atmosphere and amenities in Sunrise.
The launch commences with the introduction of a video titled “Sunrise: The City That Rises Above the Rest,” which provides a three-minute overview of the Sawgrass Business and Entertainment District and neighboring areas of Sunrise. The district’s four square miles feature many of the region’s most visited amenities, leading it to be referred to as South Florida’s emerging downtown to the west. Multiple new and soon-to-launch developments will bring additional commercial real estate projects, multi-family residential housing and Class A office space to the area. The video is part of a broader campaign that includes targeted social media outreach to CEOs and site selectors across the country.
Among the many prominent walkable and bikeable attractions in the district are the FLA Live Arena—the home of the NHL’s Florida Panthers hockey team—a 22,000-seat concert, sports, and entertainment venue that has hosted many of the world’s top superstars of music and comedy, as well as family performances. Additionally, the adjacent Sawgrass Mills mall attracts shoppers numbering in the tens of millions, making it Florida’s second-most visited tourist destination after Disney World. This fashion and dining haven is the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the United States with more than 350 stores including 70 luxury brands at The Colonnade.
The Sawgrass International Corporate Park—the largest corporate park in Broward County and one of the largest in Florida at 650 acres—is home to many national and global headquarters set against the backdrop of the Everglades. As a key part of this Sawgrass Business and Entertainment District, the corporate park benefits from Sunrise’s proximity to I-75, I-595, I-95, the Sawgrass Expressway, and the Florida Turnpike, which connect businesses to a regional workforce of 2.7 million people, three international airports and seaports, higher education institutions, and Florida beaches. Tenants represent a wide continuum of industries including technology, finance, manufacturing, health care, and entertainment.
“Sunrise is already the geographical epicenter of the South Florida tri-county area. When you consider the $2.3 billion of new mixed-use projects in development at Metropica and Radius, and the 1.5 million square feet of office entitlements ready for development we will continue to attract top businesses and high paying jobs to the City,” said Sunrise City Manager Mark Lubelski.
Metropica, a new urban oasis at the edge of the Everglades, is a mixed-use development under construction that will bring new high-rise residential buildings, office, retail, entertainment, and more to the Sawgrass Business and Entertainment District. Development at Metropica and other investments around the nearby FLA Live Arena are expected to add even more variety of living options in Sunrise and more opportunities for businesses to relocate to Sunrise. Residents and visitors in Sunrise have access to recreation ranging from small neighborhood parks to large facilities with modern amenities.
Twelve area hotels offer visitors, locals, and corporations more than 3,000 hotel rooms and 250,000 square feet of event meeting space. Dining options range from the upscale and well-known to casual service and unique global cuisines.
